I love this thing - I was nervous about spending so much money on a toilet seat but to be honest, I don't even like using public toilets or other people's bathrooms anymore because I am so spoiled by my Big John!
A little help for those deciding: I am a 5'10" 280lb woman and this thing supports me like no body's business - I don't slide, I don't have the feeling of "falling in," and it is, by far, the greatest toilet seat I have parked my tuckus on! The picture kind of makes the seat look cushioned, but it isn't - and that was fine with me. It was a snap to attach to my toilet - all hardware included and the instructions were clear. Other reviewers made me concerned about the clearance of the seat - front/back and left/right, but even though my toilet is close to the wall in my bathroom, I had more than enough room for this seat. I think that's all the concerns I had before purchasing - and I'm glad I took the leap to get the Big John.

I found the Big John to all it is claimed to be with some parts issues that caused a weeks delay in installing the seat. Big John replaced the bad parts at no charge but the install was still some drama I didn't need since the replacement part was almost as bad as the first one.
All In all I recommend this seat but do an assembly check to fit all parts together BEFORE you take off your old seat.
I should have gotten this a long time ago.

Loved it from the second I saw it and sat on it. The only bad thing is it makes being a big guy much easier. If it lasts a year it'll have paid for itself. The stress relief from not worrying about destroying another seat is worth it alone.

I purchased this seat for my husband (who is 6'4" and 400lbs) and five months later the seat has broken along one of the hinges. For the price I thought it would last longer than a regular $30 seat from the hardware store. When I wrote the company to ask how long was their guarantee, their reply was that we must have installed it wrong! There is NO warranty or quality assurance with this product! It was more comfortable than the usual seat but be aware that it will still probably have to be replaced as often as the much cheaper ones. Also on our toilet you had to be sure and put the lid down after you flushed or it would hold down the handle and keep the water running.
