Back Pain Is A Common Problem Among Americans
Statistics reveal that some 65 million people suffer from back pain in the United States alone. This means that a majority of Americans will suffer severe back pain on an average of once every fifteen years during adulthood. It is such a problem that it is the number two reason for all medical visits. Fortunately, only five percent of the back pain cases are severe enough to keep people from all of their daily activities.
There are things you can do to help yourself when you move wrong or lift something in an incorrect manner and suddenly experience excruciating back pain. The best thing you can do is apply an ice pack to the strained muscles for twenty minutes. Do it several times a day in order to diminish the inflammation that resulted from the strain. This should be done faithfully during the twenty-four to forty-eight hours following the injury.
Once that time period has passed, begin using heat. Heat causes the blood to move faster throughout the body, and it will help the muscles heal faster. During the same time period that you are doing the ice and heat treatments, ask a family member to massage your back with a massager.
Take your shirt off. Lay flat on your tummy on your bed. Use the delonghi space heater to take the chill off of your room in the morning and evening so you will be comfortable. It is important to relax during the massage. The person doing the massage should mainly work with the muscles that are causing the pain and those around the area. Do this when you get up and before you go to bed.
Take ibuprofeno to help relieve the pain and reduce the inflammation. Take one just before you go to bed, and it will help the muscles relax during the night so that your back will be less painful in the morning. If you experience stomach irritation from ibuprofeno, a natural pain killer and relaxant that you can use is willow bark.
Whenever a woman has a bout with back pain, it will help if she gets up in the morning and does the ice pack for twenty minutes and then has a back massage. Since moving the arms can cause more pain, it helps to use bb cream on her face. This cream is both a makeup base and foundation which reduces the arm movements in half, causing less pain.
These simple ideas will help the majority of the people who are suffering from back pain. If it doesn’t help you, see your doctor right away. He can find out what is causing the pain, and he may decide to give you a local anesthetic.
